My Words for 2014

I’m really hoping 2014 brings a lot of change for me. It’s a brand new year and there’s a lot I want to do and not do this year. Time to get started!

My words:

Simplify: to make less complicated, clearer, or easier. I tend to make things a lot more complicated than they need to be sometimes. I tend to over think things or overdo things, etc. etc. You get the point. I need to keep things simple. This goes along with the rest of my words.

Intention: a course of action that one intends to follow. Between my 3 hour commute, work, spending time with my family and sleep, I don’t have a ton of time left over. I have to be very intentional with my time. Every minute of my day must be worth it to me. I want to continue this and continue to make the most of every moment I can. In 2013 I did a really good job of spending more time offline and I want to continue that as well.

Save: to prevent the waste or loss of; conserve. I really need to start saving money. I love to shop and spend and go out, but it’s really not helping my budget. I also need to pay off credit card debt. Jarrett and I made a pact to only buy things we really need vs. want we really want this year. It’s my goal to get rid of my debt by the end of the year!

Calm: serenity; tranquillity; peace. There’s a lot going on in my life most days and I have high anxiety about a lot of things, so it’s my goal in 2014 to try to get it under control. I really do want to try yoga and meditation and hope it helps! I sincerely need to worry and stress less.

Inspired by Jessica Lawlor, I created a new Pinterest board for my words and inspiration of 2014. You can view my 2014 board here.
