I’m participating in #Reverb13, which is a reflective writing challenge in December to look back over the past year. This will be my third year participating! You can learn more about the Reverb challenges and see the daily prompts here. I participate to share more about myself and to have a written reflection of the year for myself.
There are so many “precious things” that are presented to us each day; discoveries and treasures found in simple moments, memories we wish to store in our hearts and keep with us forever. What precious things have you gathered in 2013? Which memories from this year do you wish to keep with you always?
I think the most precious things I’ve gathered this year are many experiences in NYC, traveling with Jarrett, my brother visiting and adopting our new dog Lanie.
I’ve definitely traveled all over NYC and CT with Jarrett this year and it’s been so much fun! We also traveled down to the Cayman Islands and Cozumel, Mexico, which was fun as well. Those are lasting memories as I love traveling.
Caleb is my little brother, who now lives in Oregon, and he came to visit me and stay with me for a few weeks over the summer. It was really fun to be around him since we don’t get to see each other very often. So thankful for him in my life and can’t wait until I finally get to travel to Oregon to see him!
Adopting a dog when you and your partner have full-time jobs can be a little daunting. It’s even harder when your dog has a negative stereotype. Our pitt bull mix, Lanie, is such a sweetie! We love her so much and she’s such a blessing to us. She’s a wonderful dog and we’re happy to have her.
I also never want to forget the friendships I’ve made and the opportunities I’ve had this year. Great people have stumbled into my lives and I remember over and over how constantly thankful I am to have the friends I have.
