Friday Flexibilities – People are what matter.

Just kind of came up with this, but I seem to do a lot of thinking on Fridays.. so I came up with Friday Flexibilities! It might stick around for a while.

Anyways, people are what matter in our lives. Whether it’s your best friend, a family member, a significant other or someone who doesn’t like you very much; people matter.

I think two of the most underused words in the English dictionary happen to be “thank you.” These two words aren’t very hard to say, but we often forget them.

When someone does something for you, always remember to thank them for what they do to you. A thank you can make a big difference in someone’s day.

Along with thank you, other words to make someone’s day can include any kind of recognition. A lot of times, we put SO much work into something and sometimes it may not get noticed. I’ve been trying to recognize people by saying “great job” or “looking good” or something along those lines. It’s nice to be appreciated.

On the other hand, there may be people you shouldn’t say anything to.

We all have people who will not like us. It will always happen. There will always be someone who is not your biggest fan… and it’s okay! If there’s anything I’ve learned, is that while you might could have done something to prevent it in the first place, there’s nothing you can do once someone takes it and runs with it. Even if you have no idea why someone doesn’t like you, that’s okay too.

Advice: Move on. Ignore them. Don’t visit their profiles, blogs, websites, etc. Let it go. You don’t want to be that person in 20-40 years who is still holding on to “beef” from the past. It’s not healthy. Don’t do anything to make it worse – just move on and continue on with your own life.

Be flexible as you move forward into the future with the people who matter most and be flexible when you leave the people behind who don’t matter.
