Branding and logo development are two of my favorite things to research. I’m always interested in logo redesigns, company changes, etc.
One of the main themes of logo redesigns of 2010 is a more modern look. Out with the older designs and in with a new modern feel to logos. A lot of the logos took away different elements of their logo and made them simpler as well.
What do you think of these logo designs? Know anymore famous logo designs in the past year?
Here are some of the more famous logo redesigns of 2010:
I like the new one without the shadows.
Since MTV really doesn’t play music until 3 a.m. I think it was appropriate for MTV to remove Music Television, but I do miss the old MTV without all the reality shows and when there was more music on MTV. I like the overall look of the new logo though.
Really not sure about this logo at all… not a big fan.
I really like this new look for Yellow Pages. I like the more yellow feel and how yellow is emphasized in the logo.
I think the older Library of Congress logo more suited the Library of Congress, but I like the added color and the book design.
The new Scribd logo is MUCH better. The rainbow box was awful and the new logo is more modern and just has an overall better look.
Again, I appreciate the more modern look to this logo, but when I see the water drop I think of water, not coffee. Not the best redesign in my opinion.
This is just zoomed in a little closer, not a drastic change to the logo, which is okay with me.
Now for some of the lesser known brand and logo changes:
I like the new feel of the more modern Belk logo a lot, but I don’t really think it fits the company and their target audience, but they are trying to reach more people.
I haven’t personally seen this logo redesign in person, but pink is one of my favorite colors so I really like the redesign! I wish “the country’s best yogurt” was a little easier to read though.
They had this logo for a while, and the new logo is more modern, but does not convey the message as powerfully. I like the change though!
I haven’t been to a YMCA in a while, but I like the new purple and red logo and that it actually says YMCA now.
I like that Survey Monkey is a bigger font and I like the outline of the money MUCH better.
