#Reverb10 Day 7 – Community

December 7 – Community. Where have you discovered community, online or otherwise, in 2010? What community would you like to join, create or more deeply connect with in 2011?

The community online that I’m most connected with is the Twitter community. Last night on #megajobhuntchat we were talking about meeting Twitter friends and such in real life and I have met quite a few of my Twitter friends in real life because we talk so much everyday that I consider them to be real friends.

The best community and closest chats on Twitter, in my opinion, are #PRstudchat, #usguys, #u30pro, #blogchat and pretty much everyone in #PRSSA.

We all really help each other out with looking at blog posts, looking over resumes and cover letters, looking over online portfolios, general life questions, having bad days and much more. It’s good to have people all over you can rely on!

I’m not really sure of a community I would like to get closer to in 2011, but there are a few friendships I need to work on and improve, so that will be my goal for 2011!

I also want to work on networking more and creating more mutually beneficial connections. Networking is one of my favorite things and with the upcoming conferences next year, they should create some awesome opportunities!

  1. It’s great that you have met Twitter friends IRL. Since I’ve only been blogging/tweeting for a couple of months, this whole idea is really new to me. But I’m excited about the friendships I’m making and hope to get even more involved!

    1. Hi Diana,

It was so great to meet Twitter friends IRL at our PRSSA National Conference after we had all been tweeting together for almost a year, it was crazy!

You should definitely get more involved in Twitter and blogging and join a few of the hashtag[#] chats, especially #blogchat. Thanks for reading!
