I’m maintaining things it seems. I’m trying my best to maintain a life, school work, study time, four organizations, three jobs (really four), friendships across the country, maintain healthy eating, and more.
I have unusually good time management skills, well I used to. Things seem to be maintaining right now. Things seem to be staying exactly the same.
I seem to be in the same routine over and over and sometimes I feel like I have reached my limit. I need to get out of this rut.
What am I doing to help this ‘rut’?
For starters, I am trying a few new things.
I have started working with our on campus news station, TV 62 and have been learning a lot about broadcasting for a little over a week now. I have never really been into broadcasting, but in my future career with PR and Marketing, broadcasting could very well be a part of that.
I have learned what readers, VO and VOSOTs are, I have seen a news segment filmed live and I’m going to be helping with the next live news program this Friday. I’m pretty excited to be learning another aspect of communication and I hope this will help me in the future as well.
Another thing I’m trying to do lately is re-connect with old friends. Sometimes we all get so caught up in our own lives and we all change so much from freshman year, that we kind of lose touch with each other.
I’ve been trying to hang out with a few other people other than my closest friends to maintain connections and re-connect with them.
The last thing I’ve been doing a lot more of lately is SKYPE! I have really gotten into Skype. It is an incredible program that allows you to chat with a person, or a group of people, for free. You can also video chat with them to actually see them while you are chatting! This is a very helpful program for keeping in touch with people in other states, cities, countries, etc. It’s also helpful for, you know, keeping in touch with people you meet at let’s say… a PRSSA national conference :]
Even though I feel like I have reached my limit sometimes, it’s always great to have friends there to back you up and help you through everything.
Is anyone else feeling these end-of-the-semester blues? What are you doing to relieve some stress?
