A history of my volunteer experience:

PRSSA

  • Vice President of Public Relations 2011-2012: managing the student organization’s social media, Chapter News and external and internal communications
  • National President 2012-2013: overseeing the entire National Committee of nine other student members to advance the Society and our national initiatives on behalf of 11,000+ members
  • Immediate Past President 2013-2014: serve in an adviser role for the National Committee and the National President while also serving as the link between PRSSA and PRSA

PRSA

  • PRSA New Professionals Section Blog Co-Chair 2014: manage the New Professionals Section blog and contributors for the blog as well as serve as a representative at the PRSA International Conference
  • PRSA New York New Professionals Co-Chair 2014: serve on the PRSA New York board while planning PR Thursday events for new professionals in NYC and planning the annual career forum for students in the area

Service Trips

  • New Orleans 2006: worked to rebuild a house for a resident after she lost her entire house and all her belongings to Hurricane Katrina
  • Jamaica 2006: worked to build a church in Spanish Town, Jamaica while also helping the local communities
  • Ukraine 2007: worked with a local mission camp to visit and volunteer at orphanages in the Ukraine
  • Arkansas 2008: worked in a local church to rebuild after major damage and volunteered locally to help residents recover
