Western Carolina University

Internship – April 26

On Monday I worked from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Laura and I discussed the WCU social media issue with the negative comments and decided to add a new section to the social media guidelines for WCU I wrote about how to appropriately respond to negative comments, if there is to be a response at all. Contact me if you would like to see the social media guidelines I wrote!

I also wrote the Earth Month – Part 2 blog which can be found at: http://marketing.wcu.edu/2010/04/earth-month-part-2/ In that blog I discussed the Earth Monday Bearthday Celebration event on the U.C. Lawn and the 26th annual Tuck River Clean Up.

Also, posted the latest news stories about WCU, scores, and events on the Facebook and Twitter

Internship – April 19th

8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. today

This morning I have been replying to comments on Twitter and on Facebook about the open house this past weekend, people seemed to really enjoy the campus and thought it was beautiful! It definitely helps we have TONS of flowers planted, the grass is green, and the trees are blooming!

I have also been posting events that are coming this week and been answering questions people have about WCU and where to find what information.

Remember how I mentioned the ticket box photo shoot? Well here is the new FPAC website and a link to the ticket box page where you can see me and a fellow PR student: http://www.wcu.edu/fapac/12.htm

Also, this past week there was a Dillsboro/WCU Committee meeting where we talked about social media and it was decided we need social media guidelines for the town, so I mailed Dr. Farmer the social media guidelines I wrote for the University, kind of exciting!
