Working from multiple computers? You NEED Dropbox!

As a student and young professional, I'm constantly working from my MacBook Pro in my apartment to various work computers in various offices and on other computers. If you are working from multiple computers, you NEED to install Dropbox! What is Dropbox?

Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily. Never email yourself a file again! [via dropbox.com/about]

You can also set up sharing with others' computers and pick and chose which files you want to share. Work a lot on your phone? Me too! Install Dropbox for your iPhone too!

Dropbox was founded in 2007 by Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi, two MIT students tired of emailing files to themselves to work from more than one computer. [via dropbox.com/about]

Dropbox is very easy to install and saved me a lot of headaches from losing USB flashdrives and emailing myself all these huge files. I installed dropbox on my MacBook Pro first then installed it on two of my work computers, both in different offices.

I can now work, save files and update files from all three of these computers without worrying about multiple files, which file is the most updated and if I emailed myself the file.

How Dropbox works:

  1. Create Dropbox account on dropbox.com
  2. Install Dropbox for FREE on all of the computers you need to share files from.
  3. Share files between computers with a folder put on your desktop via dropbox.com
  4. Dropbox automatically SYNCS files! Most important!

Worried about your computer crashing with all your files? All your files are also saved on dropbox.com! I used to be worried about that as well, but with Dropbox, you really don't have to! [Don't I sound like a saleswoman??]

It really is safe and increases efficiency in the work place and in your home. I recommend this to anyone and everyone who constantly worries about files or emailing files all the time and it WORKS! For Mac, PC, iPhone, etc... you don't have to worry about your files and documents.
